Atlantic Boulevard Bridge Improvements

The Atlantic Boulevard Bridge Improvements included a renovation of the bridge’s north and south façades and the tender house, new sidewalks, computerized uplighting, land-based lighting, large decorative sails on the four corners of the bridge and marine-inspired murals by local artist Dennis Friel. The bridge’s concrete side barriers were replaced with open metal railings to offer pedestrians and vehicles better views of the Intracoastal, as well as to prevent rain buildup along the roadways. A pedestrian waterfront promenade was constructed under the east side of the bridge for better connectivity.
