Pre-Construction Services
Burkhardt Construction can provide a full scope of pre-construction services. Our primary goal during the pre-construction phase is to assist the owner, architect and engineer in developing a comprehensive set of construction documents that meet the owner’s requirements for time frame, budget, function and aesthetic.
Conceptual Estimating
Over the past 33 years, Burkhardt Construction has developed an accurate conceptual cost estimating system based on our history of successful downtown urban revitalization projects in the State of Florida. We have completed over 40 streetscape/public space projects and dozens of commercial projects under or on budget. We draw on this experience and comprehensive cost history to build the most accurate estimates possible. Details are incorporated into cost estimates as they become available during the pre-construction phase, allowing our estimating team to work on cost control while still in the design phase.
Value Engineering
Value engineering is not merely construction cost cutting. Rather, it comprises alternative methods and creative solutions which effect cost savings without compromising the spirit, quality or integrity of the project. Burkhardt Construction approaches value engineering with depth of experience and our management philosophy of “no one individual holds the franchise on the great ideas”. This approach fosters creativity and interaction from all levels of our organization. When we are asked to value engineer for a client, it is not just construction, but creative solutions to construction challenges.
General Contracting
As a self-performing General Contractor, Burkhardt Construction joins your project team during the design phase. This approach allows us to work together with the owner, architect and engineer to deliver the project according to budget and schedule. During the design stage, we can provide cost estimates and value engineering, handle scheduling and plan construction. We then provide on-site construction supervision and oversee the warranty period once construction is complete. Burkhardt Construction performs GC assignments on a negotiated contract basis.
Construction Management
Burkhardt Construction offers a range of professional construction management services suited to the size and complexity of any given project. We can provide services as either an owner's agent whereby the client holds all trade contracts, or on an "at-risk" basis where we become responsible for guaranteeing performance and maximum price. Whichever is right for your project, we join your team early in the design phase and offer advice on value engineering and constructability of design. This approach allows you to achieve optimum cost, schedule, and quality. Burkhardt Construction has successfully served both public and private clients under construction management/ construction management at risk contracts.
Design/Build
Burkhardt Construction has participated in multiple highly successful design-build projects, acting as a single point of contact for the client and accepting responsibility for both design and construction phases. This method simplifies the process for the client and provides for efficient project completion. Because we work closely with the designer during the design process, we are able to mobilize construction activities before design is complete. Over the years, Burkhardt Construction, Inc. has built relationships with leading architectural and engineering firms in the state.
Post-Construction & Maintenance Services
Upon completion of a project, Burkhardt Construction provides the client with comprehensive Operations and Maintenance manuals and warranty maintenance as provided in the contract. We can also provide customized maintenance services for the completed projects. As a premier streetscape/public space contractor, we are uniquely qualified to maintain these high-level finish projects in like new condition.
