- Merry Place is a public/private workforce housing project in West Palm Beach. The project consisted of 15 acres of City property. Burkhardt Construction was under contract to construct all grading, water, sewer and storm drainage and underground all overhead franchise utilities. Merry Place also included roadway and parking construction, concrete walks, landscaping, hardscape/streetscape features, irrigation, lighting, site signage and site furnishings. The project was constructed in an urban environment where existing roadways and utilities were required to remain in service while new roadway construction was put in place and new workforce housing construction was underway adjacent to all road ways.
